A Coffee Start Of A Beautiful Life

My Real Life started at a café.

I was looking for a job, five and a half years ago. I left my old job as an amateur chef in a japanese restaurant because of a conflict with a coworker. I left sought jobs online in all kinds of places, I was desperate. I sent applications to food markets, McDonald's and all those places I had no interest in working. I had low self esteem and thought I was no good for a real job.

In the news paper I saw that my favorite café was looking for an employee and decided to go there and apply. I had never really applied for a job at the place itself so I asked one of the staff members about the job and he told me I had to bring a CV.

The amateur Me had no idea what a CV is supposed to be like. So I came the next day with a hand written CV and handed it in.

The food markets never answered, McDonald's never made the effort either but the café had contact with me in just a few days asking me to come for an interview.

They told me how their lifestyle is Coffee, Coffee and even more about Coffee and I was so interested in their point of view I can't even describe it. In the end of the interview I got asked to come for a trial.

Later when I had gotten the job one of the shift managers told me that my referee was never found and I had gotten my job because my CV was so beautifully handwritten and my interests I had given up were so strange and interesting. I think they were art, norse myth and some more that I can't remember now.

This café is where my Life started and five and a half years later I am still that strange boy working now part time as a barista at the center of My universe.
